About Attorney Kie Westby

Attorney Kie Westby has practiced law in Connecticut since October 1, 1979. He practiced law as an associate and then as a partner in the firm of Guion and Stevens from 1979 to 1989. In January of 1990 he formed his own law firm. He graduated from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut in 1973 with Honors. He received his J.D. degree from Cumberland Law School in Birmingham, Alabama in 1979.

Kie served in the Marine Corp Reserve from January 1976 to May 2000. He enlisted in the Marine Corp as a private and eventually received a commission, a JAG Certification, and reached the rank of Major. He was a Desert Storm Volunteer and received an Honorable Discharge from the Marine Corp in 2000. In addition Kie has been an active Rotarian since 1983 and was named a Paul Harris Fellow by his local Thomaston Rotary Club in 2001. Since 2000 he has been the chairman of his club’s charity golf tournament, which raises over $10,000 each year for community projects and scholarships.

Kie has served on several local boards and commissions. During the 1980’s Attorney Westby served on the Thomaston Board of Education during the late 1990’s he served on the Thomaston Planning and Zoning Commission.

Attorney Westby resides in Southbury with his wife Laura. The Reverend Laura Westby is the Pastor of First Congregational Church of Danbury. The Westby’s have two daughters.
